Most real estate starts with a property and looks for people to match it. Expat Homes grew out of the team's own frustrations with the Chiang Mai rental market, and works the other way round: it begins with the people and what they need, then looks for the specific homes that fit.
The team is made up of Thais and foreigners who speak English and Thai. They work between foreign renters and Thai homeowners, prepare bilingual contracts and aim for long-term relationships on both sides. Searches draw on a private database of more than 10,000 houses, townhouses and condos for rent and for sale.
The service carries on after the move. The office answers questions about the house and the lease, and an in-house maintenance team of handymen and technicians looks after plumbing, electrical and other repairs. For owners, the agency lists homes for sale or rent and offers property management.
